Joni Mitchell can blow me.

Today may not be a good day....

I woke up this morning with a tummy ache and one of my least favorite songs (Big Yellow Taxi) was playing in my head. I'm pretty sure it wasn't my clock radio....while they do play a lot of shit (as do most radio stations these days), I'm pretty sure that "Big Yellow Taxi" is not on xfm's playlist.

All the while clutching my gut & humming "Don't it always seem to go That you don't know what you've got till it's gone hmm hmm hmm hmmm and put up a parking lot", I lurched up the stairs in search of something to satisfy my morning hungries. Once upstairs & after a quick check in the fridge, my first thought is to check for any edible cereal (not the healthy shit that somebody bought 5 or 6 months ago which has since been left to stale in our cupboard) As I opened the cupboard door, our rather large (& ****ing heavy might I add) rolling pin fell over and landed on my big toe. (why oh why do the gods hate me so?) No, I don't reckon this is a good day.

Bloody 'ell

Just found out that we won't be without Stean for a week and a half....I was so looking forward to it. Apparently the trial at which the less desirable half of Stean was supposed testify has been postponed till freaking 2005!!!!!!!!

Discworld x-mas cards!!

Oooh, I want one of these Discworld Christmas Cards.

Discworld

I was perusing the bookstore the other day and came across a couple things I really wanted...an illustrated Discworld novel--'The Last Hero'. I did indeed indulge. I've been spending/wasting a lot of money the past while....something tells me that I don't have a savy little green monster in my head who advises me to make practical/sane purchases...rather there's a little red demon pouncing up and down on a "BUY IT" button which protrudes rather nastily from my brain. At least I didn't purchase the "New Discworld Companion" or the "Science of Discworld" (yes, I did have to chew off my own arms to resist making these purchases) I'm thinking I need to make a trip to the comic shop & make some more insane purchases....do it while I can for I predict I will soon be too broke to do much of anything...more on that later.

Dream Journal Entry #2

Sat. Sept. 20 - My sister's friend Margarita (whom I've never met) drives up our driveway in a beat-up Honda...my mother and I go out to greet her. Between puffs of smoke she introduces the man sitting next to her--I can't for the life of me recall his name, but she informs us that this is the father of her child (I have also forgotten the child's name). It should be noted that this Margarita girl is only 19 or so and definitely does not have any children (but from what I hear she is kinda skanky). The man is of First Nations descent and extremely handsome...I can't remember his name either. Shortly after the introductions, Margarita & handsome boy leave & the dream begins a new and stranger story....

This second part of the dream (if they are in fact the same dream??) has me searching for the inspiration behind Roberta Flack's "Killing Me Softly"...what the ???

I run around trying to find something that inspires great sadness....what do I find?--a seal! The seal and I bond and become close friends--we have such a deep connection even though we cannot speak to one and other. Apparently (I'm not sure if it just appeared out of nowhere as things often do in dreams or if I had it the whole time) I had on my person a bloody shroud which is supposed to match the inspiration to the song...I place the shroud over top of the seal and it somehow matches...the blood stains match the seals eyes and mouth. The song (Killing Me Softly) begins to play and I begin to cry--or bawl rather. The matching of the shroud means that great harm has or will come to my poor little seal friend. Roberta Flack wins some sort of an award and is startled (? - I can't exactly recall what her reaction was but I think it was a look of surprise) that we have discovered the inspiration to her song. I wake up crying. The end.

Dream Journal Entry #1

Weaved by the Dream man Sept. 19, 2003
I can't remember too many details about this dream, but here's what I do recall: it was a dream about a spectacular obstacle course up in some rocky mountain range....all of my friends were there as participants...as we were running around in some strange cavern I found myself trying to introduce them all to one and other...things didn't go so well...I had to tell people that Hanna was sometimes a little standoff-ish....I think she completely ignored someone when I introduced them...she just kept running or something.
